After flying high against Clairemont on Wednesday, Mira Mesa came back down to earth. The Marauders fell 2-0 to the Liberty Patriots on Friday. The Marauders' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Julianna Baron paced Mira Mesa's offense, picking up three kills. Baron got some help from Kanaiya Parham and her five assists. Parham was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Mira Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Mira Mesa and Liberty will both be playing Santiago the next time they take the court. The Marauders will head out to face the Sharks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Patriots will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
