After flying high against Clairemont on Wednesday, Mira Mesa came back down to earth. The Marauders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Patriots on Friday. The Marauders' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Julianna Baron paced Mira Mesa's offense, picking up three kills. Baron got some help from Kanaiya Parham and her five assists. Parham was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Mira Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Mira Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Santiago on the 10th. As for Liberty, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Coronado at 6:00 p.m.
