Baseball Game Preview: Broughton Capitals vs. Sanderson Spartans

For the second straight game, Broughton will face off against Sanderson. Broughton is taking a road trip to challenge Sanderson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Broughton's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Sanderson by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Capitals haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Weston Rhem was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Matthew Solomon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Broughton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Sanderson dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Broughton, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
