Basketball Recap: Westran Hornets vs. Fayette Falcons
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westran). They blew past the Fayette Falcons 77-32 on Tuesday. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Black, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Those five boards gave Black a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Chapman, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points and three steals.
Westran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Kaleb Friebe and Thad Quint certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Friebe posted seven points and eight rebounds, while Quint put up three points.
Westran pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Fayette, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Westran will venture away from home to challenge North Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westran is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.
