Recap: Kahuku Red Raiders vs. Moanalua Menehune
The Kahuku Red Raiders came tearing into Thursday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 67-58 victory over Moanalua. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Moanalua's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tramir Ladipo, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ladipo scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Barcelona, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Kahuku has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Moanalua, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17.
Kahuku will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Kalaheo at 6:30 p.m. Kalaheo is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Moanalua, they will challenge Kailua at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kailua will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
