Basketball Recap: Shorecrest Prep's Win Ends 11-Game Losing Streak at Home

Shorecrest Prep lost to Tarpon Springs back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Shorecrest Prep Chargers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tarpon Springs Spongers 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Tarpon Springs saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tula Diamantaras posted six points in addition to 11 boards and three steals.

Shorecrest Prep's victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Tarpon Springs, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Shorecrest Prep will take on Northeast at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tarpon Springs, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 44-29 win against Pasco on the 8th.
