Softball Recap: Vaughn White Tigers vs. Northridge Academy Pumas
Vaughn had lost four straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-11 to make it five. They lost 19-0 to the Northridge Academy Pumas. The game marked the first time this season in which the White Tigers were not able to get on the board.
As for Northridge Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 22.1 runs.
For Northridge Academy's part, Alondra Laguna and Val Montes were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Laguna tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Montes pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Laguna has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. As for Northridge Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
