Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Fort Worth Comes Up Short

Cristo Rey Fort Worth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community Christian Warriors.

Community Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aiden Sipes out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Sipes has scored at least a third of Community Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of River Bryan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards.

Cristo Rey Fort Worth's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Community Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey Fort Worth will take on Joshua Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Emmanuel Olmos and Tristan Millspaugh. As for Community Christian, they will face off against Heritage Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Community Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
