Softball Recap: Chapin's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Chapin blew Canutillo out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Canutillo got their revenge. The Huskies fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Huskies have suffered since March 7, 2024.

Alyssa Pena stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Josy Jaime-Garcia, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Chapin's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7-2. As for Canutillo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-9-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Chapin is set to square off against their familiar foe Andress at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Canutillo will challenge rival Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
