Basketball Recap: Southridge's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Southridge rose to the challenge on Friday. They managed a 54-50 victory over the Coral Park Rams. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won four contests in a row.

Southridge had a senior duo take command as Deandre Hardy dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten boards and O'Cien Valdes went 7-for-16 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Hardy a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mykel Underwood, who posted seven points.

When it comes to explaining why Coral Park lost, don't look at Noah Lara. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-13 to rack up 23 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Lara, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Southridge's record is now 17-7. As for Coral Park, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Southridge has already played their next game, an 80-72 defeat against Coral Springs on the 12th. Coral Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
