Football Recap: Anthony Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Anthony took on Compass Academy on Thursday. The Wildcats took a blow against the Cougars, falling 41-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Compass Academy found their leader in sophomore Mason Hicks, who threw for 176 yards and one TD, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Braxton Morris also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

Anthony has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Compass Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Anthony will square off against rival Crane at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. Meanwhile, Compass Academy is set to take on their familiar foe Alpine at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
