Basketball Game Preview: Muncie Burris Owls vs. International Gryphons

Muncie Burris is on a four-game streak of home losses, International a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Muncie Burris Owls will get right back to it and host the International Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, Muncie Burris beat Union 57-44.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask International). They really took it to Central Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-30 win. With the Gryphons ahead 41-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

International's win came from a few key players Muncie Burris will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Peter Machado, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Evan Johnson, who went 5-for-10 on his way to 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Muncie Burris' victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16. As for International, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Muncie Burris barely slipped by International in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 53-52. Will Muncie Burris repeat their success, or does International have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
