Cookeville came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Sycamore War Eagles by a score of 12-8. Cookeville's win was all the more impressive since the War Eagles were averaging only 3.75 runs allowed on the season.

Jackson Jones and KJ Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Anderson went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Jones a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Harrison, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Cookeville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Cookeville's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
