Basketball Game Preview: Da Vinci Dragons vs. Patterson Institute Lions

The Da Vinci Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Patterson Institute Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Da Vinci knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Patterson Institute likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, everything went Da Vinci's way against Deming as Da Vinci made off with a 75-55 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Dragons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 502nd in Texas, while the Wildcats are ranked 126th in New Mexico).

Meanwhile, Patterson Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 65-42 to Immanuel Christian. The Lions were down 54-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Da Vinci has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Patterson Institute, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
