Baseball Game Preview: Valor Christian Eagles vs. Bear Creek Bears

For the second straight game, Valor Christian will face off against Bear Creek. The Eagles will challenge the Bears at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Valor Christian has five straight wins, Bear Creek has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Valor Christian's victory against Bear Creek wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Bears 5-3.

Will Hayes looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Valor Christian is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Max Matteucci, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
