Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grimsley). They were the clear victors by a 21-5 margin over the Western Guilford Hornets on Tuesday. With that victory, the Whirlies brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Levi Ponder made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Grimsley got a massive performance out of Clay Rosser, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Rosser a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Cook, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Grimsley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Grimsley pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Western Guilford, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-19.

As of now, neither Grimsley nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
