Football Game Preview: Schuylkill Valley Panthers vs. Columbia Crimson Tide

Schuylkill Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against Columbia recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Crimson Tide at 7:00 p.m. Schuylkill Valley has given up an average of 27.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Schuylkill Valley is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Berks Catholic on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Panthers took a blow against the Saints, falling 55-19. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Saints are ranked 158th).

Meanwhile, Columbia beat Pequea Valley 21-14 on Friday.

The win got Columbia back to even at 3-3. As for Schuylkill Valley, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Schuylkill Valley against Columbia in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
