Cuero and Wimberley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Cuero had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Wimberley Texans 69-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Gobblers have suffered since August 30th.

Cody Stoever was his usual excellent self, throwing for 268 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns for Wimberley. Stoever is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Joshua Belanger was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown.
The defeat snapped Cuero's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-4 record. As for Wimberley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Cuero does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wimberley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 36-33 victory against Sinton on the 6th.
