Basketball Recap: Connor Herring's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Seton Hall Prep over St. Benedict's Prep

Seton Hall Prep was the 70-66 winner over St. Benedict's Prep when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Seton Hall Prep Pirates took an 81-62 bruising from the St. Benedict's Prep Gray Bees on Tuesday.

Seton Hall Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Herring, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Herring a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Avery George, who posted 12 points.

Seton Hall Prep's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for St. Benedict's Prep, they pushed their record up to 12-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Seton Hall Prep will challenge Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seton Hall Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season. As for St. Benedict's Prep, they will take on Seton Hall Prep at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
