Junipero Serra and Los Gatos are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Junipero Serra Padres will be taking part in a tournament against the Los Gatos Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Junipero Serra's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Sacred Heart Prep with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Padres haven't had any issues with the Gators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Riley Lim tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Bradshaw, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Davis Minton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Los Gatos made easy work of Menlo School on Thursday and carried off an 8-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Matt Ludeman looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Los Gatos got a massive performance out of Lucas Carlisle, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one triple. Will Temple was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Los Gatos hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Menlo School struck out ten times.
Los Gatos' win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.4 runs. As for Junipero Serra, their record now sits at 2-0.
Junipero Serra came out on top in a nail-biter against Los Gatos in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 9-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for Junipero Serra since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
