Baseball Recap: Truman Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Truman lost against Oak Park back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Patriots lost 16-9 to the Northmen. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly seven runs.

Anthony Manfredi and Cole Pleacher stepped up to the plate in a big way. Manfredi scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Pleacher scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Devin Ottens also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Truman's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Oak Park, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Coming up, Truman will be playing at home against Blue Springs South at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oak Park, they will venture away from home to face off against Lee's Summit North at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
