Baseball Recap: Edcouch-Elsa Takes a Loss

Edcouch-Elsa managed to slip by Weslaco East the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Edcouch-Elsa lost 13-3 to Weslaco East on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Edcouch-Elsa saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Troy Barco, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Barco a new career-high.

Edcouch-Elsa has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. Weslaco East pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
