Basketball Game Preview: Durant Cougars vs. Strawberry Crest Chargers

Durant and Strawberry Crest are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Cougars will take on the Chargers in a tournament on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Durant is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-60 heartbreaker at the hands of Plant City.

Despite their loss, Durant saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nathan Moore, who shot 78% from the field on his way to 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Moore has also been stellar as far as shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 63% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jamarcus Randall, who went 6-for-13 en route to 14 points along with three steals and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Strawberry Crest can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Wharton by a score of 63-55.

The win got Strawberry Crest back to even at 5-5. As for Durant, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Durant couldn't quite finish off Strawberry Crest when the teams last played back in January and fell 71-68. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
