Softball Recap: Summit Comes Up Short

Summit fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Colton on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 4-3. The SkyHawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Ciarah De Angelis spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 19 hits.

At the plate, Summit saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Munoz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Colton, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Coming up, Summit will welcome Kaiser at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Colton, they will head out to take on Bloomington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
