Recap: City View Mustangs vs. Holliday Eagles
The matchup between The City View Mustangs and the Holliday Eagles on Friday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. City View suffered a tough 47-22 defeat at the hands of Holliday. City View has struggled against Holliday recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Holliday was led to victory by Parker Jones and Grant Cox. Jones gained 171 total yards and two touchdowns, while Cox threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. Jones was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Ashtyn Berry also helped out with an impressive 89 receiving yards.
City View's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Holliday, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
City View will head out on the road to face off against S & S Consolidated at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. S & S Consolidated comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Holliday, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Callisburg on Friday. Callisburg is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
