Baseball Game Preview: La Jolla Vikings vs. San Diego Cavers

For the second straight game, La Jolla will face off against San Diego. The Vikings will take on the Cavers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (La Jolla has six straight wins, San Diego has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, La Jolla beat San Diego 6-2.

Abel Delgadillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carter Strauss, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Kestler, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
