Softball Recap: Amherst Find Success

Amherst won the last time they faced Northland Pines and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Sam Nooyen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, McKenna Orsund was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Ivy Boelk was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Amherst's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Northland Pines, they dropped their record down to 0-22 with the loss, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Amherst nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
