Basketball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

Chaparral lost against Great Oak back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Chaparral Pumas fell 57-49 to the Great Oak Wolfpack. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 150th).

This is the second loss in a row for Chaparral and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Great Oak, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Chaparral will venture away from home to square off against Murrieta Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Murrieta Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.6 points per game this season. As for Great Oak, they will be playing at home against Temecula Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Temecula Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Great Oak likes a good challenge.
