Softball Game Preview: Hamilton Aggies vs. Brooks Lions

Hamilton is 0-5 against Brooks since May of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Aggies will host the Lions at 4:30 p.m. Neither Hamilton nor Brooks posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Hamilton fell victim to Hoover and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buccaneers.

Meanwhile, Brooks also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of Lawrence County by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Brooks saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preslie Bunch, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Bunch's first of the season.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 20-19. As for Brooks, their loss dropped their record down to 15-14.

Hamilton suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Brooks in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Aggies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
