Baseball Recap: Bowie Volunteers vs. South Grand Prairie Warriors
Bowie fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South Grand Prairie on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on Tuesday.
Bowie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Ferguson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Bowie has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for South Grand Prairie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7-2.
