After both having extra time off, the Lynden Christian Lyncs and the Blaine Borderites will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Lynden Christian put up the most runs they have all season last Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Bellingham a 16-0 shutout. The Lyncs haven't had any issues with the Bayhawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, Blaine was able to grind out a solid victory over Squalicum last Thursday, taking the game 15-10.
Mesa Puls was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She also put up four hits, which were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brie Smith, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season. Nevaeh Zaddack was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Blaine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Squalicum only posted an OBP of .368.
Blaine now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lynden Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
Lynden Christian couldn't quite get it done against Blaine in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Will the Lyncs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
