Softball Recap: Lake Braddock Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

There's no place like home for Lake Braddock, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Woodson Cavaliers a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won seven in a row.

The result came thanks to Mac Verdejo's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Radha Samuel was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Eva Dubray, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Lake Braddock's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Woodson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
