Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Wins Going Away Against Syosset

Holy Cross picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They took down Syosset 60-42.

Holy Cross had a senior duo take command as Nafi Balde almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine boards and Mona Okorie dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Okorie is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 41 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jeeanna Pierantoni, who posted 14 points and five boards.

Holy Cross smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Holy Cross' victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Syosset, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
