Basketball Recap: Rivers of Life Christian Eagles vs. Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis Crusaders
Rivers of Life Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis Crusaders 82-54. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Preston Sheppard, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Cochran, who put up 14 points.
It was another big night for Ricardo Jones, who went 15 of 28 en route to 32 points and six steals for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis. That makes it 19 consecutive games in which Jones has scored at least a third of Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis' points. Jayce Lamb also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Rivers of Life Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Rivers of Life Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 82-50 defeat against Eagle Ridge Christian on the 28th. Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis has also already played their next contest, a 52-46 win against Heritage Classical Christian Academy on the 28th.
