Davenport comes up short despite Triston Hamlin's dominant performance

Recap: Davenport Wolves vs. Chapel Hill Bulldogs

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Davenport Wolves, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 56-33 walloping at the hands of the Bulldogs on Friday. Davenport's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Davenport still got an impressive performance from Triston Hamlin, who threw for 272 yards and four touchdowns. Hamlin is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last ten games he's played. Kyler Payne was another key contributor, picking up 86 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Leading Chapel Hill to victory were Rickey Stewart and Demetrius Brisbon jr. Stewart rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, while Brisbon jr rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Stewart hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.

Davenport's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Chapel Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Davenport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chapel Hill is on the road again on Friday and play against Anna at 11:00 a.m. on December 15th. Anna has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 166 points over their last four matchups.
