Football Game Preview: Druid Hills Red Devils vs. Tucker Tigers

The Druid Hills Red Devils will head out to challenge the Tucker Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Druid Hills hasn't scored more than 13 points for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Druid Hills is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Lithonia on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Red Devils were dealt a 41-13 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Red Devils were down 27-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Although Druid Hills took the loss, they still got scores from Xavier Norris and Jackson Hampton.

Meanwhile, Tucker blew past Northview, posting a 55-3 victory. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season so far.

Druid Hills better keep an eye on Jace German. He was instrumental in Tucker's win, rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 98 yards and one TD.

Tucker was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 330 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 151 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Tucker's defense made their presence known, laying out Drew Beane three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Samuel Bryant and Jamare Tolliver, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece. Djimon Dj McLendon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Druid Hills' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Tucker, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Druid Hills was dealt a bruising 48-3 defeat at the hands of Tucker in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
