Basketball Recap: Baldwin Takes a Loss

If Baldwin was feeling good fresh off their 72-48 takedown of Mason County Eastern last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Baldwin Panthers fell just short of the Pentwater Falcons by a score of 55-52 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.

Pentwater's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Trey Johnson, who posted 17 points and four steals. Johnson has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. Mikey Carlson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Baldwin's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Pentwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

Baldwin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pentwater has already played their next contest (against Muskegon Heights Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
