Softball Recap: Connally Cadets vs. Gatesville Hornets
Connally was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 25-1 to the Gatesville Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.
Connally saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Ard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Tylar Thomas also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Connally's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Gatesville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Connally will face off against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Robinson will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Connally surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gatesville, they will challenge Lorena at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gatesville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lorena has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
