Softball Recap: Deweyville Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Deweyville couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 15-3 to the Milano Eagles on Friday. The Pirates just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Baylee Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and 12 unearned) runs on 14 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Deweyville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayley Revere, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Deweyville's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Milano, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9-1.

Deweyville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Milano, they will take on Junction on Saturday.
