Soccer Recap: Monticello's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

After soaring to five goals the game before, Monticello was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Western Albemarle Warriors by a score of 1-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Monticello of the 5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monticello fell to 5-1-1. As for Western Albemarle, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1-1.

Monticello didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Orange County on the 24th. As for Western Albemarle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Charlottesville on the 24th.
