The matchup between Edinburg North and Weslaco on Tuesday hardly resembled the 36-25 effort from their previous meeting. The Edinburg North Cougars walked away with a 58-51 victory over the Weslaco Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Panthers back in January, they had to take a 36-25 defeat.

When it comes to explaining why Weslaco lost, don't look at Pete Cantu. Despite the final result, he went 8 of 14 en route to 20 points and seven boards. Cantu is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Fuentes, who posted seven points.

Edinburg North has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Weslaco, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-9.
