Football Recap: Braintree Takes a Loss

Braintree extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They came up short against the North Quincy Raiders, falling 41-20. The Wamps were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for North Quincy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games.

North Quincy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Brown out in front who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 72 receiving yards. Those 117 rushing yards gave Brown a new career-high. Ronan Brown was another key player, gaining 103 total yards and two touchdowns.

Looking ahead, Braintree will take on Framingham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Quincy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cohasset at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
