Basketball Recap: East Marshall Comes Up Short

East Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the South Hardin Tigers 69-12. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-24 back in December of 2024.

South Hardin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alli Sheldahl out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Adeline Cook was another key player, putting up 12 points.

East Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for South Hardin, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

East Marshall and South Hardin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. East Marshall (ranked 316th) will meet Denver (ranked 32nd) at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, South Hardin will face off against Grundy Center at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday down 127 places (246 vs. 119).
