Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Redhawks vs. Ridge View Blazers

Westwood is 2-8 against Ridge View since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Westwood Redhawks will take on the Ridge View Blazers at 7:30 p.m. Westwood is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Westwood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Blythewood, who was ranked 13th at the time (Westwood was ranked fifth). Westwood secured a 58-53 W over Blythewood on Friday.

Meanwhile, Ridge View came up short against Great Crossing on Monday and fell 74-62. The Blazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westwood's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Ridge View, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Westwood came up short against Ridge View in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 64-52. Can Westwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
