Softball Recap: Normandy Vikings vs. McCluer North Stars
Normandy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 25-8 to the McCluer North Stars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 24-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Kamori Wooden was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing six bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kamiyah Delaney, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Normandy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for McCluer North, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Normandy and Hazelwood East are set to duel on Tuesday. Normandy is facing Hazelwood East at the right time seeing as Hazelwood East is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for McCluer North, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against McCluer at 4:00 p.m.
