Basketball Recap: Wayne Preparatory Academy Extends Winning Streak to Two

Wayne Preparatory Academy won the last time they faced Alpha Academy, and Gaven Proctor did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wayne Preparatory Academy Generals took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 75-34 win over the Alpha Academy Timberwolves thanks in part to Proctor, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 27 points and three steals. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jabrion Armstrong, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 12 points and four blocks. That's the most blocks he has posted since back in February of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Wayne Preparatory Academy and bumps their season record up to 13-7. As for Alpha Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Preparatory Academy will venture away from home to face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alpha Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Riverside Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th.
