Baseball Game Preview: Plumstead Christian vs. The Christian Academy

Plumstead Christian is 7-1-1 against The Christian Academy since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Plumstead Christian will venture away from home to square off against The Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. Plumstead Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Plumstead Christian got the win against Lincoln Leadership Academy by a conclusive 19-4. The victory continues a trend for Plumstead Christian in their matchups with Lincoln Leadership Academy: they've now won five in a row.

Phil Young made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Young was also solid in the batter's box, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Chase Blattner was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Plumstead Christian is 5-1 when Blattner posts two or more runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Declan Glass, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Delaware County Christian hit The Christian Academy with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Christian Academy lost 12-1 to Delaware County Christian. The Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Plumstead Christian's record now sits at 7-4. As for The Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
