Softball Recap: Cedar Comes Up Short

Cedar extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-8. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pine View Panthers. Even if the Reds couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Kate Lopez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinzie Hawkins, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

As for Pine View, the victory snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 3-10 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 6th.

On Pine View's side, they got a massive performance out of Sarah Seegmiller, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Seegmiller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kam Sullivan, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Pine View didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 21-7 victory against Moapa Valley on the 26th. Hopefully Cedar paid attention to the Panthers' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
