Volleyball Recap: Montbello Warriors vs. Denver West Cowboys
Montbello was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Denver West Cowboys. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cowboys earlier this season, when they won 3-0.
Yaretzi Barraza paced Montbello's offense, picking up 25 kills. Barraza got some help from Brittany DelRio and her 17 assists. Finally, Tia Salas kept Montbello's defense grounded, leading the team with eight blocks.
Montbello's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Denver West, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.
Montbello wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART on the 30th. As for Denver West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Alameda on the 29th.
