Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. Chiles Timberwolves

For the second straight game, Lincoln will face off against Chiles. The Trojans will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. Lincoln is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Lincoln is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Chiles with a sharp 7-1 victory. Seven seems to be a good number for the Trojans as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Nate Dietz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jayson Parker was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Chase Fuller, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lincoln lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Lincoln's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chiles, their loss dropped their record down to 17-13.
